Modern Slavery Policy

Document control

Last updated

Apos Medical UK Ltd (t/a AposHealth) is committed to conducting its business responsibly and ethically. This policy was effective from 6 November 2023, was approved by the Board of Directors and is reviewed annually.

1. Zero tolerance

Apos Medical UK Ltd prohibits all forms of modern slavery in its operations and supply chains. This includes forced labour, child labour, debt bondage and human trafficking. We expect everyone working for or with AposHealth to uphold this commitment.

2. Supply chain due diligence and risk assessment

We use proportionate due diligence and risk assessment to identify and manage the risk of modern slavery. This includes considering the nature of a supplier’s work, location, workforce and supply chain, evaluating suppliers before and during a relationship, and taking corrective action where concerns are identified.

Responsibility rests with the Chief Officer for the relevant supply chain and with Procurement Managers, supported by the people responsible for managing supplier relationships.

3. Expectations of suppliers and business partners

Suppliers and business partners are expected to adhere to the same principles and to comply with all applicable laws relating to modern slavery and labour standards. AposHealth works with its partners to understand their controls and to ensure that modern slavery is not present in the products and services provided to us.

4. Training and awareness

We provide training and awareness for employees so they can recognise indicators of modern slavery, understand their responsibilities and know how to raise a concern. Employees are encouraged to report concerns promptly. We expect the highest standards of employee conduct and will support people who speak up in good faith.

5. Reporting mechanisms

Employees and external stakeholders can report concerns confidentially and without fear of reprisal. Reports will be assessed promptly and handled appropriately, with information shared only where necessary to investigate and respond.

6. Consequences of non-compliance

Failure by an employee to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Where a supplier or business partner fails to meet our expectations, AposHealth may require corrective action and may terminate the business relationship.

7. Governance and communication

This policy is communicated to all employees, suppliers and business partners. The Board of Directors provides oversight, and the policy is reviewed annually to confirm that it remains effective and appropriate.
